Wim Competed for Holland and came
first at the Flying Junior world sailing championship on the Adriatic
Coast of Italy.
After graduation (with a degree in
Civil Engineering) Wim represented Canada in a number of European
Regatta's held in Norway, Italy and various sailing regattas in the United
States.
Wim moved up to cruising sailboats
with a 41 foot Atlantic Clipper which he sailed along the Eastern Seaboard and
in the Bahamas when
time permitted.
Wim started Challenger Yachts
Limited in Montreal, Quebec and over the years built and delivered
over 800 cruising sailboats.
In Toronto, Wim worked with
Regatta Yachts to build the Ticon 30 and the Kelt 7.5 sailing boats.
Wim started Anchor Yacht Sales, a
Limited Partnership with Mike Green in 1991 and over the years has sold and delivered a
considerable number of new Beneteau sailboats.
In 2003, Wim sailed and
delivered a 62 foot Ocean from Panama to the Virgin Islands via Columbia
and Aruba.
